Eddie Sachs Racing is a concept that took shape in 2007. Our owner, Eddie Sachs Jr., has spent his lifetime in and around motorsports. His commitment to excellence is inherited from his lineage as well as his exposure to the many giants of auto racing. Big names like Parnelli Jones and Roger Penske can be linked to Eddie’s vast motorsports network. In 2011, Eddie Sachs Racing (ESR) teamed up with USAC and IZOD IndyCar Series veteran, Jimmy Kite to challenge the top-quality teams and drivers of the USAC Silver Crown Championship Series.

Eddie Sachs, Jr. is the son of the legendary “Clown Prince of Racing," Eddie Sachs, an eight-time starter of the Indianapolis 500. (Please visit our "ESR History" page for more history on Eddie Sachs).
Eddie’s extensive motorsports resume includes NASCAR, IICS, IRL, NHRA, ASA, USAC and SCORE. Eddie has turned in the driver's suit to pursue the dream of team ownership now. Currently, ESR fields a USAC Silver Crown team with driver, Davey Ray. Eddie hopes to pursue a lifelong dream of fielding a car in the Indy 500 to honor his late father. As a stepping stone, he is on a mission to enter the Indy Lights series with driver, Davey Ray in the near future. Eddie plans to build a program to reach out to all the fans of racing from grassroots neighborhood tracks all the way to IZOD Indy Car Series.

This is the Grand Pooba, the Man Behind the Curtain, the guy that gets all the blame when something goes wrong and very little of the glory when it goes right. Eddie is the kind of guy that wants to sit on the side-lines and see his team get recognized for who they are and what they do. You would be hard pressed to find an owner as humble and honest of Eddie Sachs Jr. Eddie is the class clown when we all need to get loose, but also a true class act. He knows how to keep us motivated when the day doesn't seem to go our way and he will go beyond the extra mile to make this team successful. When Eddie told me his story, we both agreed that the place to be in this world was beyond the glass ceiling...and Eddie, your team is here with that Oxygen tank!
